Mark Wahlberg's former home -- with a two-story gym -- wants $28.5 million

It’s no secret that Mark Wahlberg loves to live big.

The actor — who rose to fame as a member of the rap group Marky Mark and the Funky Bunch and as a Calvin Klein model before launching a successful film career — often makes headlines with his showstopping abodes.

His current home, a sprawling 6-acre estate with a palatial 30,000-square-foot mansion in the ritzy community of North Beverly Park was listed for sale earlier this year for a staggering $85.7 million.

The price has since been reduced to $79,500,000, but it remains one of the most expensive celebrity homes in Los Angeles, competing with its equally pricey neighbors — like Sylvester Stallone’s former Beverly Park mansion, which was once listed for $110 million before Grammy Award-winner Adele bought the house at a significant discount.

Before Wahlberg moved to Beverly Park, he owned another mega-mansion in nearby Beverly Hills, one that’s recently hit the market in search of a new deep-pocketed owner.

Listed for $28,500,000, the actor’s one-time California mansion is repped by Myles Lewis with Compass and Skye Hankey of Premier Realty Services.

Built in 1985, the Mediterranean-style mansion is set on a generous 1.7-acre lot in the coveted Oak Pass Road gated community in Beverly Hills.

Beyond its highly desirable location, the property has plenty of things to offer.

To list just the highlights: a 5-bedroom main house, a two-story guest house, a separate 2,300-square-foot gym, a full sports court, a resort-style pool with waterfalls, waterslide and grotto, an outdoor kitchen with a wood-burning pizza oven, a motor-court and 3-car garage, and putting green for golf enthusiasts.

There’s also a two-story gym where Mark Wahlberg reportedly trained for his Oscar-nominated role in The Fighter

The Daily Mail reports that the gym alone — which comes fully equipped and also features a full-size boxing ring — is worth $2 million. And it’s by no means the only way to get a work-out on the property, as the estate also has an outdoor basketball court and putting green.

“On top of being a gorgeous remodel with all of the bells and whistles including resort-style pool and grotto, huge movie theater and full sports court, I can honestly say that I’ve never seen a property in Beverly Hills that offers a stand-alone 2,300-square-foot gym with a full boxing ring,” said listing agent Myles Lewis.

“Calling it “uniquely luxurious” doesn’t even do it justice,” Lewis added. And we couldn’t agree more.

Wahlberg bought the 1985-built home back in 2001, and paid $4.95 million for the 1.7-acre spread. He called the place home for many years, and invested heavily in the property before parting ways with it 12 years later. He sold the house in 2013 for $13 million.
