British singer-songwriter, musician, and producer Roland Orzabal is ready to part ways with the place he’s been calling home for the past couple of decades.

The artist, best known for being one of the co-founders and lead singers of English pop rock band, Tears for Fears, is having quite a busy year.

In early 2022, Orzabal and bandmate Curt Smith released their first new studio album in nearly two decades, The Tipping Point.

Prior to that, Tears for Fears had not put out any new music in 18 years (with the exception of a cover album), The Tipping Point being the band’s first studio album since Everybody Loves a Happy Ending, released in September 2004.

Tears for Fears did remain active on the music scene though, performing at various European and UK festivals throughout the years — and even toured North America with co-headliners Hall & Oates in 2017.

And the two band members stayed close; both figuratively and literally.

Roland Orzabal and Curt Smith both own homes in the Hollywood Hills, and have been living only about three miles from each other. But that’s about to change.

Set in Nichols Canyon Place, a private enclave in prime Hollywood Hills with only a handful of homes, Roland Orzabal’s house is now on the market.

Listed for $3,950,000, the delightful contemporary home sits on a quiet cul-de-sac and has 4 bedrooms and 5 baths.

Spanning 4,266 square feet of living space, the celebrity home has dramatic soaring ceilings, picturesque windows that invite the natural light in, and an open living concept.

With fireplaces in all the important rooms of the house (the dining room, family room, downstairs bedroom, primary bedroom, and upstairs guest bedroom), and wide-plank light hardwood floors made from non-toxic sustainable wood, Orzabal’s house has plenty to offer potential buyers.

On the main floor, a beautifully remodeled cook’s kitchen with Ian Walmsley custom cabinetry flows seamlessly into the bright and airy family room.

A junior master suite, home office, and spacious formal dining room complete the main floor, leading up to a winding staircase that leads to the upstairs bedrooms.

The upper level of the 1960-built home has an inviting movie room with an adjacent gym/yoga room, two guest bedrooms connected by their own separate bathroom, and the primary bedroom.

Speaking of the primary bedroom, this room comes with ample closet space (including a walk-in closet), soaring ceilings, beautiful french doors that lead to the balcony, a dry sauna, and a spa-like bath.

Heading outside, a pool invites residents and guests to enjoy the sunny Cali weather amidst lush landscaping.

There’s also plenty of space to entertain guests poolside, including a shaded seating area around a firepit.

Roland Orzabal’s house hasn’t been offered for sale in almost two decades, making this a unique opportunity for a buyer looking to settle down in the surprisingly rustic — and utterly charming — Nichols Canyon.

The property is listed with Bryan Castaneda and Andrew Mortaza of The Agency.
