This 4-Floor Penthouse Atop San Francisco’s ClockTower Asks $6.3 Million, Comes With the Actual Clock

The ClockTower Building may stay true to its 1907 roots, but the building’s penthouse looks like it’s been taken straight out of an interior design magazine.

If you haven’t yet had your daily kick of fancy living, here’s a treat for you: the massive penthouse atop San Francisco’s iconic ClockTower Building.

And since it just dropped its asking to $6,250,000 (from $6.9 million), this seems like the perfect excuse to kill a couple of minutes drooling over this stunner of a clocktower loft that looks like the dream home I hadn’t had the chance to design in my head yet!

What you get for the money

The clocktower loft spans over 4 floors and comes with two bathrooms and two bedrooms — with an additional study and game room that can easily be converted into extra bedrooms.

On its main level, the 3,000+ loft has a lavish two-part living-and-dining room ensemble, an inviting master suite, a guest bedroom, and a library.

Upper levels feature an office with stunning panoramic views, a game room (don’t get too excited, it’s mostly just a billiards table and a “Dirty Harry” pinball machine), and a unique Clock Room — whose maintenance doesn’t fall on the shoulders of the property owner (the building’s homeowners’ association takes care of that).

The penthouse is the only unit to have access to the Clock Tower, so whoever is lucky enough to get to live here sure has an amazing space to entertain guests.

Adding to the appeal of the clocktower loft

The previous owners bought the unit soon after the building was redeveloped back in 1993 and spared no expense in remodelling the unit.

Interior features include — on top of the towering ceilings throughout — oak hardwood floors, automated Hunter Douglas shades, custom draperies, ceiling fans, Lutron lighting with gallery style spotlights, and custom metal-framed bookshelves.

There’s also a wrap-around rooftop deck that offers great views of the city and that’s been adorned with custom stone pavers and sculptures.
