Venice is many things; a quintessential beach town, trendy foodie hotspot, hipster enclave, you name it. But most of all, it’s a hub for bohemian artists with a funky, eclectic vibe that makes it a haven for art lovers.

That’s why when it comes to real estate listings, Venice falls into a category of its own. Every home that lands on our desk outdoes itself either in terms of unique architecture, picture-perfect interiors or artsy features.

This artist’s home is no exception. Owned by Laura Kimpton, best known for her monumental word sculptures, the lovely house is bright and bustling with art, pops of color, and inviting spaces specially designed to get your creative juices flowing.

Set in a quiet residential neighborhood referred to as the Silver Triangle, the charming 2 bedroom home is the perfect hideaway for creators and artists.

It comes with a delightful detached creative studio — and even some ready-made art that the owner will be passing along to the next residents.

That includes her word sculpture LOVE — which last year was installed at Renown Health’s Regional Medical Center in downtown Reno, Nevada, as a message of support for the hospital’s healthcare workers and patients.

Kimpton is best known for her monumental word sculptures, which she has been bringing to Burning Man since 2009, and for her mixed media/collages, both of which are showcased throughout her Venice home.

The property’s highly desirable location is adjacent to the Venice Canals and places the home within a short distance to Abbot Kinney, Washington, Marina and beaches.

With plenty of outdoor spaces, and enough room to expand — the house sits on a 5,000-square-foot lot — the property is now on the market with a $1,975,000 price tag. Erik Miles and Zara Carkner of Compass hold the listing.
