Netflix doesn’t joke around when it comes to holiday content.
Every year, the streaming giant lines up a whole series of cheerful, cheeky, and generally feel-good movies to get us into the Christmas spirit, with productions released gradually until the Thanksgiving holiday — when an explosion of Christmas lights, stockings, and perfectly decorated trees start taking over our screens.
This year, one of the most hyped holiday flicks comes (unexpectedly) from Pet Sematary director Mary Lambert, and stars Austin Powers actress Heather Graham as Charlotte and singer/songwriter/actress Brandy as her ultra-accomplished friend, Jackie.
In Netflix’s own words, “The Christmas comedy follows two longtime frenemies who are reunited over the holidays in a twist of fate.”
Every Christmas, Jackie (Brandy) sends a boastful holiday newsletter that makes her old college friend Charlotte (Heather Graham) feel like a lump of coal. But when Charlotte lands on Jackie’s snowy doorstep just days before Christmas, she seizes the opportunity to prove her old friend’s life can’t possibly be that perfect.”Netflix
Highlighting Jackie’s perfect life is an elegant luxury mansion carefully picked to trigger the envy of anyone who lays eyes on it.
And we tracked it down, just in case you were wondering if it’s an actual house or the figment of some clever CGI work.
While the action of the movie takes place in the fictional town of Hadley Falls, Best. Christmas. Ever! was primarily filmed in Utah, with a 50+ acre farm in Herber, UT serving as a backdrop for Jackie’s house, Screen Rant reports.
The mansion we see Charlotte (Graham) and Rob (Jason Biggs) drive up to when their mischievous little son Grant (Wyatt Hunt) — and his trusty stuffed sidekick Monkey Bob — put the wrong address into the GPS is a real property set right outside of Charleston, Utah.
The Summerhouse Farms mansion, spanning more than 50 acres in Herber, UT played the part of Jackie (Brandy) and Valentino’s (Matt Cereno) house.
And while we only get glimpses of the main house, the property that served as filming location for Best. Christmas. Ever! is a sprawling hobby farm with highland cows, chickens, and orchards, and is often hosting events. Take a look at the grounds of the property (Swipe for more pics):
The Summerhouse Farms is also home to the Lynden Legacy Foundation, who’s mission is to help caregivers and families with loved ones moving into and through the stages of Dementia, with a focus on Alzheimers.
Since it hasn’t been listed for sale or anything, it’s harder to place a $$$ figure on the property but to get an idea of how much the Best. Christmas. Ever! house is worth, we looked at its tax history and saw that it was last assessed in 2022 for $3,555,177.
Since we know that assessed values are often lower than appraised value or the true market value of a property, it’s likely that the Best. Christmas. Ever! house is worth significantly more than that. So we checked a few of the leading real estate platforms (Zillow, Redfin, Realtor.com, etc), which say it’s worth somewhere in between $4,500,000 and $5,500,000.
But, if you want to walk in Jackie’s (likely designer) shoes without paying millions of dollars to buy her house, know that the Summerhouse Farms mansion featured in the Netflix holiday flick can be rented for events, including weddings, anniversaries, and more.
