Formula 1 Racing star Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez buys luxe Miami condo

“I’ve always been drawn to the St. Regis brand, and with the towers’ privacy and prime location in Brickell, it’s the perfect place to call home,” says Pérez.

As we’re gearing up for another exciting Formula 1 Season — kicking off with the Australian Grand Prix in Melbourne on March 16 — one of the sport’s veterans is making some moves of his own.

F1 racing legend Sergio ‘Checo’ Pérez, formerly with Red Bull Racing, is putting down roots in Miami after purchasing a luxury condo in a soon-to-be-completed condo building with panoramic water views.

Checo’s new Miami home is set within The St. Regis Residences Miami, an upscale 50-story residential tower developed by the same company behind Baccarat Residences Brickell, Ritz-Carlton Residences West Palm Beach, and NoMad Residences Wynwood, among many others.

The Mexican racing driver will no longer be driving Red Bull’s car in the upcoming championship, but will stay involved with the team in 2025 and will perform some “show runs”, with Liam Lawson replacing him as Max Verstappen’s teammate.

The condo is located in The St. Regis Residences Miami, now under construction on the Biscayne Bay waterfront in Miami’s South Brickell neighborhood.

The 50-story residential tower is being built by The Related Group — a leading national real estate development company founded by Jorge M. Perez, widely known as South Florida’s “condo king” — and Integra Investments.

Consisting of 152 luxury residences, the building was designed by award-winning firm Robert A.M. Stern Architects (RAMSA), and marks the lauded architectural practice’s first residential development in South Florida.

RAMSA has famously built some of the most sought-after residential buildings in New York City, including the celebrity magnet 443 Greenwich (which fellow Formula 1 champion Lewis Hamilton called home) and the screen-favorite Belnord building, familiar to TV audiences as the main setting of Hulu’s Only Murders in the Building.

While not much information has been publicly shared about the specific unit (likely out of privacy concerns), we do know that the racing star’s new Miami home has 4 bedrooms, spa-like bathrooms, and private elevator access.

His condo also enjoys panoramic waterfront vistas and generous views the Brickell skyline.

Like all 152 bespoke residences at The St. Regis, the interiors have been designed by David Rockwell’s acclaimed Rockwell Group.

As such, they come with some of the finest finishes and furnishings, including a designer kitchen outfitted with Sub-Zero and Wolf appliances, custom Italian cabinetry, and imported natural stone.

With over 50,000 square feet of upscale amenities

The building is also said to have “one of the most robust amenities packages on the market”, with more than 50,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor spaces.

These include a professional-grade fitness center with a pilates and yoga studio, a full-size pickleball court, a private marina, a world-class spa and holistic wellness center, and an indoor lap pool.

Perks also include signature butler services, an on-premises house car, shoeshine service and other personal arrangements, and access to the iconic St. Regis Tea Room as well as a fine-dining restaurant led by Michelin-starred chef Fabio Trabocchi.

“Miami has become incredibly special to me after spending the past few years here for F1, and I look forward to enjoying this stunning new home with my family and friends,” said Checo in a press release.

“I’ve always been drawn to the St. Regis brand, and with the towers’ privacy and prime location in Brickell, it’s the perfect place to call home.”

Still, the racing legend won’t be moving into his condo anytime soon

It might still be a while before Perez takes ownership of his Miami condo, as construction at The St. Regis Residences only started in November 2024 — with completion set for 2027.

Nevertheless, there’s enough hype around the building that units are now more than 65 percent sold, with remaining condos all being priced above the $5 million mark.
