American darling and This Is Us star Mandy Moore is ready to part ways with her swoon-worthy, Architectural Digest-featured home.
The 1950s residence, a chicly revamped mid-century modern home in Pasadena, Calif., undoubtedly holds a special place in the actress/singer’s heart. Ever since she bought it in 2017, Mandy Moore and her now-husband, Taylor Goldsmith, have celebrated quite a few notable milestones while living in the charming abode.
The couple was barely engaged when they first moved in. Since then, they got married (in an intimate backyard ceremony, no less), and welcomed their two sons, Gus and Ozzie, while living in the four-bedroom home.
Mandy Moore also spent the better part of the last 6 years renovating and updating the 1950s home, and has proudly shared the results of her hard work on her Instagram.
But it turns out her family won’t be the one to reap the fruits of her hard work, as Moore has just listed the property for $6,000,000 (Teresa Fuller and Jamie Bridgers at Compass hold the listing).
The mid-century home by the numbers
This lovely mid-century modern home, designed by Harold B. Zook and meticulously renovated by architect Emily Farnham and interior designer Sarah Sherman Samuel, spans just over 3,550 square feet.
Nestled on 1.4 acres in Pasadena’s Linda Vista neighborhood, it features 3 bedrooms, 3.5 baths, and a plethora of luxury amenities, including terrazzo floors with brass inlays, an expansive marble island in the kitchen, and floor-to-ceiling glass walls offering breathtaking views of the San Gabriel Mountains and Valley.
You might remember it from Mandy’s Architectural Digest house tour
The home was famously featured in an Architectural Digest house tour, where Mandy Moore showcased the harmonious blend of mid-century charm and modern elegance.
During the tour — which has well over 7 million views on YouTube — Moore opened up about how the home reflects her personal style and the couple’s love for indoor-outdoor living, with large windows and glass walls that blur the boundaries between the interior and the picturesque outdoor spaces.
Renovating the 1950s residence was a work of passion for Mandy
“I was able to pour all of who I am into making this place,” she told the outlet of the 1950s modernist Pasadena home.
“This house signifies the next chapter of my life—as an adult, a woman, and a performer. We tried to imagine what Zook would have done if he were designing it today.”
And she had a great team to help
Working with the architect’s original drawings, Mandy collaborated with her design team to restore the home’s mid-century essence while incorporating modern touches. Key renovations included rebuilding the stepped cornice lining the roof, restoring the original blonde brick walls and terrazzo floors, and installing a copper hood over the fireplace.
Moore enlisted the expertise of architect Emily Farnham, interior designer Sarah Sherman Samuel, and landscape architects Terremoto to bring her vision to life.
The interiors are the definition of quiet luxury
The home’s interiors embody quiet luxury, featuring elegant finishes like brass lighting fixtures, custom-built furniture, and natural materials that exude warmth and sophistication.
The living and dining areas are anchored by a stone fireplace topped with a striking copper hood, while the family room’s terrazzo floors and aggregate bench hearth add a touch of artistry.
The home’s mid-century charm wasn’t altered
Despite the modern updates, the home’s mid-century charm remains intact. The design team ensured that key elements, such as the clean lines and classic materials, were preserved. The result is a perfect blend of vintage charm and contemporary elegance.

The kitchen brings it into the 21st Century
The kitchen is a showpiece of modern design, featuring high-end appliances, a dramatic marble island with double-waterfall edges, and a large walk-in pantry. The adjacent breakfast room, with its expansive glass walls, offers serene views of Annandale Canyon.
The primary bedroom nails the indoor-outdoor living style
Per the listing, “the primary suite turns up the design volume with absolute integration of indoor and outdoor space and artfully simple interior choices with built-in headboard, night stands and pendant lighting.”
Canyon views from the bathroom
But there’s more to love about the primary bedroom suite; particularly since it also comes with heated floors, a huge walk-in closet, and a beautiful spa-like bathroom that affords its guests a picture-perfect canyon view from the soaking tub.
A serene backyard with canyon and mountain views
The backyard is a true sanctuary, boasting a sleek pool, multiple patios, and beautifully landscaped gardens. The property’s hilltop location provides stunning views of the surrounding canyons and mountains, creating a peaceful retreat away from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The quintessential Southern California lifestyle
Designed to maximize the quintessential Southern California lifestyle, the home benefits from natural light, sweeping vistas, and seamless indoor-outdoor living.
