Conine spent nine of his 17 major league seasons with the Marlins, earning two All-Star selections and the 1995 All-Star Game MVP award. As the team’s first star player, he provided veteran leadership on the field and quickly became a fan favorite. His clutch hitting and stellar defense in left field made him a key contributor on both Marlins title teams.

Some of Conine’s career highlights with the Marlins include:

Conine’s philanthropy & community ties

Highly involved in the local community, Conine and his family have spent 30+ years hosting the Conine All-Star Classic, an annual golf tournament to raise funds for the Conine Clubhouse at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital.

The clubhouse serves as a home-away-from-home for families with children being treated at the hospital.

Thanks to funds raised through the Conine All-Star Classic golf tournament, the clubhouse offers free temporary lodging, meals, laundry facilities, entertainment, and support services for families staying at the hospital.

Since 1990, Conine’s annual golf event has raised over $4 million to help build and sustain the Conine Clubhouse. The clubhouse has become an invaluable resource for families from around the world seeking treatment for their children at Joe DiMaggio Children’s Hospital in Hollywood, Florida.
