Late British fashion designer and style icon Alexander McQueen bought a beautiful villa on the Spanish island of Mallorca back in 2005, villa that he would often visit throughout the last years of his life.

After his death in 2010, the property was sold, with all proceedings from the sale going to an organization dear to McQueen’s heart which supports young fashion designers in London.

The new owners took great care of the property — which also underwent a massive renovation in 2015 — and put it back on the market last year.

And since it’s by no means the type of property that has to grow on you, the villa was quickly snapped up by a German buyer who paid $2.78 million for McQueen’s former home, in a deal brokered by Engel & Völkers Majorca Southwest.

Inside Alexander McQueen’s home in Mallorca

As we step inside the 5-bedroom, 3-bathroom home, it’s easy to see that the Spanish villa has all the fixings of an opulent mansion.

Floor-to-ceiling windows allow for maximum sunlight and full view for the surrounding island scenery. The marble floors have been fitted with underground heating and the house is beautifully decorated to honor the legacy of its former owner.

Fully renovated in 2015, Alexander McQueen’s former mansion has an open kitchen and dining area prime for entertaining, two large terraces, an infinity pool, and an underground three-car garage.

Though its most striking interior feature may just be the master suite: it comes with a lavish hot tub encased in marble and tile.

Alexander McQueen was a British fashion designer and couturier famous for producing some of the most provocative collections of the last few decades.

He worked as chief designer at Givenchy from 1996 to 2001, and founded his own Alexander McQueen label in 1992, label that went on to become one of the most sought-after designer brands in the world. McQueen committed suicide in 2010, at the age of 40, in his residence home in Mayfair, London.
