World-champion boxer Sugar Ray Leonard is once again floating his spectacular Pacific Palisades compound on the market, this time asking $45 million for the 1.7-acre property.
The former professional boxer, who had a legendary 20-year career during which he won world titles in five weight classes, made history as the first in his sport to earn more than $100 million in prize money.
It then comes as little surprise that Sugar Ray Leonard’s house in Los Angeles is a sprawling mansion with all the bells and whistles.
Set on a 1.7-acre property in Upper Riviera, the most exclusive area in Pacific Palisades — a location that places it minutes away from the Pacific Coast Highway and picturesque coastal beaches — the compound consists of a Florentine Villa-inspired home, a pool, cabana, tennis court, and a guest house.
Sugar Ray Leonard’s house was designed by mega-mansion king Richard Landry
The highlight of the property is the Florentine Villa-inspired compound which offers a total of 16,773 square feet of living space, with 8 bedrooms and 15 baths.
The striking compound was custom-designed for Leonard by renowned architect Richard Landry, famous for his high-end residential projects which earned him the nickname “The King of the Megamansion”.
Landry has designed over 500 private homes, including some for Michael Bolton, Rod Stewart, and Tom Brady, as well as other athletes, celebrities, and corporate moguls. He also designed Wayne Gretzky’s house in California.
For Leonard’s mansion, Richard Landry took inspiration from Florentine villas, incorporating grand public spaces with arched doorways, dramatic beams, and custom art in the design.
Inside, custom features abound, including exposed beam ceilings, ornate tile flooring, and custom windows framing stunning mountain and ocean views.
There are several parlors and sitting areas inside the 16,773-square-foot compound, many of them opening up to the sprawling grounds of the estate, blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living.
The house is anchored by a striking two-story living room with an adjoining dining room that gives the whole place a distinct palatial feel.
But the opulence is balanced out with the warm wood elements and rounded picture windows.

The kitchen is no less impressive, with its meticulous design complemented by world-class appliances, marble countertops, and custom cabinetry.
Heading upstairs, we find the spacious primary suite with a fireplace, a resort-inspired bath, as well as several balconies that open up to ocean views.
The compound’s many balconies and terraces take in the sprawling landscaped grounds that feature an oval swimming pool and putting green, tennis court, guest house, and cabana.
This isn’t the property’s first run on the market
The boxing champion first listed the property for sale back in 2019 with an ambitious asking price of $52 million.
He was likely just testing the waters, as the compound was taken off the market soon after, only to resurface in early 2021 with new representation and an updated price of $46,500,000.
Public records show that the listing remained active, its price unchanged, until August 2022, when it was again removed.
But now, with a fresh price of $45 million, and stellar representation — Aaron Kirman, Kirby Gillon, Bryce Lowe and Daniel Milstein of Aaron Kirman Group at Compass hold the listing — we’re looking forward to seeing who’s going to be the wealthy buyer that snaps up Sugar Ray Leonard’s home.
