Taking shape at 520 Fifth Avenue, a super-tall 1,002-foot tower is ramping up to deliver a new fancy living option for Manhattanites looking for an exclusive address, designer interiors, and state-of-the-art amenities.

The 88-story luxury condo building, developed by Rabina, will be the tallest residential tower on 5th Avenue and the second tallest building on this coveted stretch of Manhattan (surpassed only by the famed Empire State Building).

And its recently unveiled Penthouse 80 — a full-floor trophy residence with interiors designed by global interior design firm Charles & Co — has a very unique claim to fame.

Perched 880 feet above Manhattan on the world’s most famous avenue, the 520 Fifth Avenue penthouse is the highest-elevated home on Fifth Avenue. This also means it comes with some of the best views money can buy, overlooking landmarks like the Empire State and the Chrysler Building, as well as Central Park and all of Downtown Manhattan.

Priced at $11,500,000, Penthouse 80 is the newest offering available in the 1,002-foot mixed-use building towering over 5th Ave at 520 Fifth Avenue, currently under construction.

Set at the intersection of Fifth Ave and West 23rd Street, the skyscraper was designed by the globally renowned architecture firm Kohn Pedersen Fox (KPF), with its timeless yet modern terracotta façade paying homage to the iconic 20th-century Beaux Arts buildings that line New York City’s streets.

The luxe condo building was recently topped out

The mixed-use development, set for completion in 2025, recently topped out in late October of this year and will consist of 100 residences of varying sizes mixed vertically throughout its 88 stories. The building will also be home to a limited collection of full-floor offices (spanning 25 floors), and a new private members’ club called Moss.

And even though most units likely won’t be move-in ready until 2026, an impressive 75% of the building has already been sold, our sources tell us.

Upon completion, 520 Fifth Avenue will offer 88 stories of thoughtfully designed spaces by Vicky Charles of AD100 design firm Charles & Co, with each residence boasting spacious layouts, high-end finishes, and carefully curated design elements.

Newly launched on the market is the supertall’s Penthouse 80, a trophy residence with supremely elegant interiors — designed by the same Charles & Co whose A-list clientele includes style icons like George and Amal Clooney — and standout features like its own direct elevator entry and an expansive 31-foot entry gallery, among others.

The unit is being repped by the same Corcoran Sunshine Marketing Group that handles the rest of the building, except for the commercial space component, handled by JLL.

The elegant home-in-the-sky sits 880 feet high, towering over Fifth Avenue and enjoying extra generous panoramic views in every direction, capturing vistas of Bryant Park, Central Park, Downtown Manhattan, and city landmarks like the Empire State or the Chrysler Building.

The 880-foot elevation also makes Penthouse 80 the highest residence on Fifth Avenue, a unique claim to fame that adds to the price tag.

It occupies an entire floor of the building

Spanning an entire floor of the building, the trophy residence has two bedrooms, two bathrooms, and one powder room, with a total of 2,562 square feet of living space.

It also has a direct elevator that takes guests and residents up, where a sumptuous 31-foot entry gallery sets the stage for the luxury that lies inside.

In addition to 520 Fifth Avenue’s residential offering, the mixed-use tower will also feature 25 full floors of office space, each equipped with 12+ foot tall ceilings, expansive private terraces and loggias, and arched windows that actually open and allow fresh air in.

Ranging from 6,500 to 12,000 square feet, the boutique offices will span entire floors of the building, much like Penthouse 80.

Combining residences, offices, and community-style amenities for leisure and wellness, 520 Fifth Ave is one of the finest high-end options for urban living in the city’s core, with a timeless architecture that’s bound to make it a new staple on Manhattan’s skyline.

Particularly since, as James von Klemperer, KPF President and Design Principal, aptly put it, “520 Fifth Avenue’s design is a modern interpretation of the architecture of stepping towers that has given Midtown Manhattan its distinctive character since the adoption of the zoning laws of 1916.”
