On a quiet hilltop right above the famed Mulholland Drive, at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac, sits a charming mid-century home with tons of charm — and celebrity ties to boot.

Once home to Hollywood power couple Emily Blunt and John Krasinski, the 4-bedroom hilltop hideaway recently hit the market for the first time since its famous previous owners sold it back in 2016.

Blunt and Krasinski bought the Hollywood Hills spread back in 2014, paying $2.575 million for the property at the time, public records show.

After the couple welcomed their second daughter, Violet, they decided to part ways with the ultra-private L.A. abode and move their growing family to New York City, where they had just purchased a historic home right off of Prospect Park (which they have since sold too).

The Office funnyman-turned-action-hero and The Girl on the Train star — who also co-starred together in the post-apocalyptic horror movie A Quiet Place, which Krasinski also directed — sold their hilltop hideaway in 2016 for $3,505,000, a little over their initial asking price of $3.495 million.

Seven years — and what looks like many property improvements — later, the one-story Hollywood Hills retreat is back on the market. Asking $6,000,000, the property is listed with Compass agent Ruben Perez.

This a serene sanctuary, tucked behind a privacy hedge at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac,” Perez shared.

“This Hollywood Hills home affords seamless indoor and outdoor flow on an oversized double lot and resort-like backyard with saltwater pool and picturesque views of mountains, canyon, and city skyline,” he added.

Situated on a double lot just off Mulholland Drive, the secluded single-level mid-century home dates back to 1965 and has been beautifully remodeled for modern-day living.

It welcomes guests and residents with its private internal courtyard that leads to a meticulously landscaped front stoop dotted with topiaries.

Inside, a bright and airy foyer flows effortlessly into the spectacular, open-concept floorplan that offers a contemporary take on the classic mid-century interiors.

Clocking in at 3,657 square feet of elegantly appointed living space, the hilltop stunner features walls of glass that open up to panoramic outdoor vistas from nearly every room of the house.

With soaring, beamed ceilings, wide plank hardwoods, and original stonework, the living room is as eye-catching as it is inviting and features an automatic gas fireplace.

Illuminated by an overhead skylight, the chef’s kitchen is poised for dinner parties, replete with custom cabinetry, a Subzero fridge, Wolf range, double Miele dishwasher, and Subzero wine fridge, per the listing.

The beautifully appointed spaces flow freely from one to another, providing both views of and access to the lovely outdoor spaces.

The kitchen stands as the focal point of the open floor plan and leads into the sunken living room on one side, and the luxurious formal dining room on the other.

There’s also a welcoming study/additional lounging area tucked behind the dining room, whose windows and sliding glass doors open up to the lush backyard — making it the perfect work-from-home or hobby space for future owners.

The intimate, light-filled space also looks like the ideal setting to accommodate a meditation room.

Blunt and Krasinski’s former home has a total of four bedrooms and four baths, but it’s the primary bedroom suite that steals the show.

With its vaulted, beamed ceilings, and massive windows inviting the outdoors in, the primary bedroom is a retreat in itself, inviting rest and relaxation with its stylish and bright space. The primary suite also features a sitting area, custom built-ins, a walk-in closet, and a marble-clad ensuite bath with a soaking tub and steam shower.

Outside, a series of noteworthy amenities add to the appeal of this idyllic former celebrity home.

A covered loggia offers a great place to relax and soak in the picturesque views of mountains, the canyon, and slivers of the city skyline.

The flagstone patio is surrounded by mature oak and olive trees and features a bubbling fountain.

The dreamy space also has several seating areas, a pool with Hayward pool/spa equipment, and new landscape lighting in the rear.

The whole property makes the most out of its enviable location, which places it mere blocks away from the award-winning Wonderland School and renowned Mulholland Tennis Club. And there aren’t many homes like it available in the area, according to the agent.

“Inventory is still very limited in Upper Laurel Canyon in the Hollywood Hills. Sophisticated buyers are competing over any property that is standing out in terms of location, size, layout and views,” says Ruben Perez of Compass, who specializes in hillside properties in the Hollywood Hills, Laurel Canyon, and Beverly Crest communities of Los Angeles.

“Homes continue to transact at record prices per square foot with a Case Study House that recently sold at $2,000 per square foot in the area,” he added.

Emily Blunt and John Krasinski have a flair for buying beautiful homes in highly desirable areas that later sell at a profit.

Another past Blunt-Krasinski property ended up becoming Kendall Jenner’s house. So we’re looking forward to meeting the future owners of the actors’ former ‘quiet place’ in the Hills.
